Marvel Contest of Champions is set to deliver an action-packed April, highlighted by the introduction of the captivating new champion, Spider-Woman. Alongside her, players will encounter another intriguing character, Lumatrix, offering a stark contrast in style and abilities.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, originally named Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering challenge when she was exposed to uranium as a child, resulting in severe illness. Her father, a brilliant geneticist, attempted to save her by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA. After a long recovery, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects but also emerged with remarkable spider powers, eventually embracing her identity as Spider-Woman. Fans can look forward to adding her to their roster starting April 17th.

However, before Spider-Woman makes her entrance, Marvel Contest of Champions will introduce Lumatrix on April 9th. As one of the most formidable assassins created by the Founders, Lumatrix is designed for stealth and lethal efficiency, utilizing his unique light-based powers to infiltrate and eliminate targets.

What Else Is New?

The storyline continues to evolve with Act 9 Chapter 2: Inquisition. This chapter reveals Carina's dire situation after a confrontation with Ouroborus forces, while Doctor Doom forms an alliance with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading Chronoserpent corruption. A new villain, Lotan, also enters the fray, adding to the tension.

Additionally, the Spy Games Event Quest launches on April 9th and runs through May 7th. Black Widow delves into the enigma of the Eidols and enlists Spider-Woman's assistance in unraveling the mystery.

Dark Phoenix returns in the Side Quest with Dark Bounties, challenging players to hunt down targeted Champions and claim their rewards. The Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector makes a comeback, offering players the chance to collect Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones with their strongest Saga champions.
