The studio's post highlighted that Frostpunk 1886 will introduce a completely new Purpose Path and the long-awaited mod support, all while preserving the essence of the original game. Moving away from their proprietary Liquid Engine, which powered the first game, 11 bit Studios embraced Unreal Engine 5 after its successful use in Frostpunk 2.
