Armor is a crucial part of any Operator's arsenal in Call of Duty Zombies, and players on Black Ops 6's The Tomb map can upgrade beyond Tier 3 armor with a challenging new Easter egg: the Gold Armor Vest. This guide details how to obtain it.
What Does Gold Armor Do in Black Ops 6 Zombies?
First introduced in Modern Warfare 3 Zombies, Gold Armor addresses the frustration of constantly replenishing armor plates. It automatically repairs itself over time, even without plates in your inventory, significantly improving resource management and ensuring survival against powerful enemies like Amalgams. While manual plating remains an option, the self-repair feature is a game-changer.

How To Get Gold Armor on The Tomb in Black Ops 6 Zombies
Here's the step-by-step process:
- Acquire 2 Statue Heads: Locate these within the Dark Aether Nexus, hidden inside destructible wooden boxes.
- Place Statue Heads: Repair the ruined Roman statues in the Dig Site area using the acquired heads.
- Survive Two Blood Sacrifices: Complete these challenging encounters to unlock the Gold Armor Vest.
- Purchase the Gold Armor Vest: Once the Blood Sacrifices are complete, the vest becomes available for purchase at the Roman Mausoleum.
Where To Find the Statue Heads in The Tomb

The statue heads are found within the Dark Aether Nexus, inside wooden boxes that require melee attacks to break open. One box is near a palm tree in a corner of the Nexus (closest to the green Gateway portal), and the other is easily spotted near the Juggernog Perk Machine on a raised platform.
How To Use the Statue Heads
Once you have both heads, go to the Dig Site. Two ruined Roman statues await—one near the Ammo Cache and the exit to the Neolithic Catacombs, and the other near the Roman Mausoleum (Pack-a-Punch area). Interact with each statue to place a head. After placing both, a new UI prompt will appear, initiating the Blood Sacrifice challenge.
How To Survive the Blood Sacrifice

The Blood Sacrifice spawns multiple high-value target (HVT) versions of Shock Mimics and Doppelghasts. The challenge reduces players to 1 HP, but damage is absorbed by armor. Use a Tier 3 vest and ample armor plates. Existing enemies remain active during the challenge.
Solo Strategy: Equip a Mutant Injection and activate it as the Blood Sacrifice begins, transforming into a Mangler for invincibility. Melee the HVTs.
Co-op Strategy: One player activates the sacrifice while another, outside the Dig Site, uses a Chopper Gunner to eliminate the HVTs.
After completing both Blood Sacrifices, the Gold Armor Vest will be available for purchase at the Roman Mausoleum.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
