GTA 6 Ex-Dev Says Rockstar Games Will Blow People Away
Rockstar Games “Raises The Bar Again” with GTA 6
In an enlightening interview with the YouTube channel GTAVIoclock, Ben Hinchliffe, a former developer at Rockstar Games, offered fans a tantalizing glimpse into the world of GTA 6. Before departing from Rockstar, Hinchliffe played a role in the development of several acclaimed titles, including GTA 6, GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption 2, and L.A. Noire.
Discussing the progress of GTA 6, Hinchliffe shared his excitement, stating he was "privy to a lot of new things, content and story and stuff." He expressed his admiration for the evolution of the game, confidently noting how it has transformed "on the other end" since his departure. "I think seeing where it was when I left and playing that final version and how much, if anything, has changed. How much things have changed," he elaborated.
Last year, Rockstar Games unveiled the official trailer for GTA 6, introducing new protagonists and setting the scene in Vice City, hinting at an enthralling crime-filled narrative. Scheduled for a Fall 2025 release exclusively on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, information about the game has been scarce, but Hinchliffe assures that GTA 6 will set a new benchmark for Rockstar Games.
"You only have to look at how every game Rockstar has done has evolved in some way," he remarked. "You could argue that every element of the game moves forward in terms of feeling more realistic and people acting and behaving more realistically with each iteration. I think [Rockstar Games] has raised the bar again, just like they always do."

Reflecting on the development status of GTA 6 around the time he left Rockstar three years ago, Hinchliffe suggests that the game has likely undergone extensive fine-tuning and performance enhancements to ensure a seamless gaming experience. He also believes that Rockstar is currently concentrating on resolving any bugs and issues that may surface during GTA 6's ongoing development phase.
Regarding the anticipated fan reaction to GTA 6, Hinchliffe is confident that the game's realism will astonish players. "It will blow people away. It will sell an absolute ton as it always does," he predicted. He added, "People have been talking about it for ages after GTA 5, and I’m really excited for people to get their hands on it and play it."
