Kaiju No. 8 The Game has officially opened global pre-registration on Android, marking an exciting step for fans worldwide. Developed by Akatsuki Games, the title made its debut with a cinematic trailer in June 2024. After months of silence, anticipation is building once again as the mobile and PC release draws closer.
When Is It Launching on Mobile?
According to the official app store listing, Kaiju No. 8 The Game is set to launch on August 31st, 2025. This collaborative project unites Akatsuki Games, TOHO, and Production I.G., with a shared vision to authentically capture the intense atmosphere and dynamic action of Naoya Matsumoto’s original manga universe.
Gameplay and Features
The game blends the anime’s cinematic flair with strategic turn-based combat. A key mechanic involves targeting and exposing a Kaiju’s core—only then can players unleash their most powerful attacks. This adds a layer of tactical depth, staying true to the series’ emphasis on precision and teamwork.
Players will take control of iconic characters such as Mina Ashiro, Soshiro Hoshina, and Kikoru Shinomiya, each rendered in highly detailed 3D models and equipped with their signature abilities from the anime. While the game revisits pivotal story arcs, it also introduces original storylines that expand the Kaiju No. 8 universe beyond Kafka Hibino’s journey.
Global Pre-Registration Rewards
Akatsuki Games has linked exclusive in-game rewards to pre-registration milestones. The more players who sign up early, the greater the rewards for everyone at launch. One standout incentive is the 4-star [Aiming for Greater Heights] Mina Ashiro, available as a milestone reward.
