Metro Quester – Hack & Slash, a fresh dungeon-exploring RPG, is now available on Android, marking a departure from the typical KEMCO game. While it retains the essence of a turn-based JRPG, it delves deeper into a gritty, old-school dungeon crawler experience.
In Metro Quester – Hack & Slash, you take on the role of a scavenger alongside your crew, venturing underground to gather resources before your weekly food quota expires. The crucial number to remember is 100 – you need to collect 100 food units every seven in-game days to survive. To achieve this, you'll navigate through monster-infested ruins, exploring areas like Otemachi and Ginza in search of leftovers. Importantly, you can't level up your characters until you return to a proper camp, provided you've survived and gathered enough supplies.
Choose from 24 unique characters, each belonging to one of eight distinct classes. Customize your combo skills, weapons, and strategies to fit your playstyle. Each ability you use consumes action points, with a total of five points available per turn. Moreover, each ability can only be used once per round, making strategic planning essential.
The dungeon in Metro Quester – Hack & Slash unfolds as you explore, revealing hidden food caches, monster nests, keys to new areas, and potential campgrounds for establishing your new base.
The game's aesthetic is notably minimalistic, featuring a bleak and colorless environment that starkly contrasts with your vibrant team. For a closer look, check out the trailer below:
For those who crave additional challenges, Metro Quester – Hack & Slash offers a NEW GAME+ mode, perfect for replaying the game with increased difficulty.
Metro Quester – Hack & Slash is now available on the Google Play Store for Android devices at $14.99. Note that the game does not support game controllers and is available only in English and Japanese.
