Let the demon hunting begin! Netflix is bringing the iconic video game series Devil May Cry to life with an exciting new anime adaptation, and fans have just been treated to a tantalizing trailer. But the excitement doesn't stop there—legendary voice actor Kevin Conroy, known for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman, will posthumously star in this thrilling game-to-screen transformation.
In the series, Conroy lends his voice to the character VP Baines, who is introduced in the trailer's opening voiceover. Conroy's performance was previously celebrated in Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3 in July 2024, making his role in Devil May Cry an additional opportunity for fans to appreciate his talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66. Joining Conroy in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch voicing the central character, Dante.
According to the official Netflix synopsis, “Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”

The series is being overseen by producer Adi Shankar, who will serve as showrunner. Shankar's previous work includes executive producing the 2012 Judge Dredd reboot film Dredd, Killing Them Softly starring Brad Pitt, and The Voices with Ryan Reynolds. Shankar is also attached to an Assassin’s Creed adaptation, though its development has been slow since its announcement in 2017.
Studio Mir, the acclaimed South Korean studio behind The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97, will handle the production of this highly anticipated series. Devil May Cry is set to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
