Killing Floor 3 Delayed to Later in 2025

Tripwire Interactive has announced a significant delay for Killing Floor 3 (KF3), pushing the release date from March 25th, 2025, to a yet-to-be-determined date later in the year. This decision follows a closed beta test that apparently fell short of expectations.

Disappointing Beta Feedback Leads to Delay

In a Bluesky post on March 7th, 2025, Tripwire acknowledged the negative feedback received during the beta. The developer stated that the closed beta revealed issues in performance, stability, user interface/user experience (UI/UX), lighting, and weapon feel. They emphasized their commitment to delivering a game that meets the standards of the franchise while also pushing the series forward.

Online reactions to the beta were overwhelmingly critical. Players described the game as "insanely clunky and clumsy," "unpolished," and "glitch-ridden." Concerns were also raised about the shift away from the series' horror roots towards a more futuristic sci-fi aesthetic, and the character-locked classes limiting player choice. One Reddit user, Captain_Pugman, poignantly questioned whether the developers had forgotten what made the Killing Floor series special.

Tripwire concluded their announcement by promising a more polished version of Killing Floor 3 and assuring fans they would be updated as soon as more information is available.

Tripwire's Senior Community Manager, Yoshiro, detailed the pre-order refund process on the official forums. Automatic cancellations and refunds will be issued for pre-orders on PlayStation, Xbox, and the Epic Games Store. However, US PlayStation users will have the option to retain their pre-order. Steam users will need to manually request a refund through Steam support, while those using other third-party platforms should contact their respective vendors.
