If you’ve followed our reviews, you might remember our 2019 take on King of Crabs, a quirky battle royale game. While it didn’t fully win over our reviewer, Robot Squid is back with a fresh spin in their upcoming title, Crab Invasion.
Steering away from battle royale roots, Robot Squid dives into real-time strategy with Crab Invasion. Think along the lines of Age of War, where you face off against opponents on a linear battlefield, strategically deploying units to outmaneuver them.

Crab Invasion transforms the chaotic, crab-fueled action of the original into a strategic showdown. The premise of crabs battling to the death lends itself to a lighthearted yet engaging RTS experience.
That said, our original review noted that King of Crabs’ humor didn’t sustain long-term appeal, raising questions about whether Crab Invasion’s novelty will endure. The only way to know is to try it when it launches on May 30th.
