Lies of P: Overture Unveiled at Sony State of Play 2025

Exciting news for fans of the souls-like genre: a new prequel to the critically acclaimed game *Lies of P* has been announced. Dubbed *Lies of P: Overture*, this DLC expansion will launch in the summer of 2025 across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. The announcement came during Sony’s State of Play 2025 broadcast, and a captivating gameplay trailer was also unveiled.

*Lies of P*, a single-player action RPG, reimagines the timeless tale of Pinocchio with a dark twist reminiscent of *Bloodborne*. In IGN’s review, it scored an impressive 8/10, with the comment: “Lies of P might not branch out particularly far from its soulslike inspiration, but it plays the part extremely well.”

*Lies of P: Overture* will take players back to the origins of the Puppet Frenzy, exploring the events that set the stage for the main game. The trailer promises new environments, formidable bosses, and introduces a mysterious guide, hinting at deeper lore and thrilling gameplay.

*Lies of P* publisher Neowiz had already teased the game’s first DLC and confirmed plans to release a sequel. *Lies of P* sold one million copies in less than a month after it launched on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, PC via Steam, and Mac via the Mac App Store on September 18, 2023.
