The much-anticipated official trailer for the live-action adaptation of Lilo & Stitch has been released, offering fans an exciting glimpse into the film. The trailer showcases Maia Kealoha in the role of Lilo, bringing a fresh interpretation to the character originally voiced by Daveigh Chase in the 2002 animated classic.
The trailer not only puts Kealoha in the spotlight but also gives us a closer look at Courtney B. Vance as the stern yet endearing Cobra Bubbles, and Billy Magnussen as the quirky Pleakley. An intriguing plot twist revealed in the trailer shows Jumba, portrayed by Zach Galifianakis, and Pleakley briefly disguised as humans on Earth, deviating from their usual alien appearances. However, fans will be pleased to see Pleakley's alien form make a brief appearance.
Additionally, the trailer recreates several iconic scenes from the original film in live-action, including Stitch's dramatic entrance as a falling star, his transformation into a dog-like creature at the shelter, and the poignant moment when Lilo explains, "Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten."
Lilo & Stitch is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025, following closely on the heels of another Disney live-action remake, Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs, scheduled for release on March 21, 2025.
