Lokko: A New 3D Platformer from India's Appy Monkeys, Powered by Sony's India Hero Project

Appy Monkeys, an Indian game developer, in collaboration with Sony's India Hero Project, is bringing us Lokko, a vibrant 3D platformer. This exciting title features cross-play functionality across mobile, PC, and PS5, with DualShock controller support on all platforms.

The India Hero Project, a Sony initiative, fosters the growth of Indian game development. Lokko, born from this partnership, boasts a robust level editor and a detailed avatar creator. Players deliver pizzas while battling the greedy Goobol food corporation.

Lokko's design draws inspiration from successful modern games, incorporating character customization, level creation, and a low-poly art style reminiscent of Roblox. However, Lokko leverages PlayStation's power, positioning itself as a compelling alternative to similar platforms.

While the gameplay might not be revolutionary, Appy Monkeys' work is promising. Lokko's cross-platform capabilities and DualShock integration are particularly noteworthy. The India Hero Project continues to showcase the burgeoning talent within the Indian game development scene.

Although a precise release date is yet to be announced (beyond sometime this year), keep an eye out for Lokko. In the meantime, consider checking out another excellent cross-platform indie title, Dredge, from Black Salt Games!
