After nearly a decade in the making, Lost Soul Aside is finally set to launch. What began as the personal project of solo developer Yang Bing has evolved into a significant Sony-published title through the company’s "China Hero Project," with Bing now heading Shanghai-based studio Ultizero Games as its founder and CEO.
As the release date approaches on May 30 for both PlayStation 5 and PC, IGN had the chance to speak with Yang Bing about the journey leading up to this milestone. Years of dedication have transformed this single-player action game from a personal vision into a global sensation, culminating in its highly anticipated reveal at Sony's State of Play. The excitement surrounding Lost Soul Aside has been building since Bing's initial viral video in 2016, with many comparing it to an exhilarating blend of Final Fantasy characters and Devil May Cry combat mechanics.
