Monster Hunter Wilds Story is Credited for Its Success By Series Producer

Since its release, Monster Hunter Wilds has sold over 8 million units in just three days, making it Capcom's fastest-selling title to date. In a recent interview with The Nikkei on March 10, Monster Hunter series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto credited the game's success to its strong emphasis on storytelling and exceptional voice work. He also highlighted the significant role that crossplay has played in uniting players across various gaming platforms.

In a previous discussion with GamesRadar+ last month, Tsujimoto emphasized the growing importance of the PC platform and the dedication to crossplay. He noted the increasing popularity of PC gaming in Japan and globally, stating, "We worked very hard to achieve that this time around." Tsujimoto further explained, "That means the choice is yours on which platform you want to play with, and then [you can just] go online and hunt with your friends."

Despite Tsujimoto's praise for the game's narrative, some fans have expressed differing opinions. According to various discussions on Steam, a number of players found the story less engaging, citing lengthy Seikrit rides and uninteresting dialogue as drawbacks. However, these fans also acknowledge that the primary allure of Monster Hunter games lies in their gameplay rather than their storylines.

Here at Game8, Monster Hunter Wilds has earned an impressive overall score of 90 out of 100. This high rating is attributed to the game's enhancements over its predecessors, including quality-of-life improvements, addictive gameplay, stunning visuals, and a surprisingly compelling story.
