However, eager fans will have to wait a bit longer for comprehensive details, as Nintendo has scheduled a full breakdown of the 2025 launch to be revealed during a Nintendo Direct on April 2, 2025. A brief trailer released by Nintendo not only confirmed the new hardware but also teased a brand new Mario Kart game. The trailer concluded with an announcement for the much-anticipated Nintendo Direct, set to provide an in-depth look at the Nintendo Switch 2.

"Nintendo Direct: Nintendo Switch 2 will air on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, offering a closer look at Nintendo Switch 2, the successor to Nintendo Switch releasing in 2025," Nintendo stated on its website. Additionally, Nintendo will visit Melbourne from May 10 to 11, Tokyo from April 26 to 27, Seoul from May 31 to June 1, and later dates for Hong Kong and Taipei.
