As noted by Nintendo Life, Nintendo has revealed the tech specs for the upgraded $84.99 Switch 2 Pro Controller, which now charges in about three-and-a-half hours. That's nearly half the time it takes to charge the original Pro Controller, which requires six hours. And the best part? This faster charging doesn't compromise the Pro Controller's impressive 40-hour battery life. The Switch 2 Pro Controller maintains the same long-lasting power, while introducing a new C button, two additional GL/GR buttons on the underside, and a design that's slightly lighter and smaller than its predecessor.

If you're attached to your original controller, you'll be pleased to know that Nintendo has confirmed the original controller will be compatible with the new console system. The Switch 2 was officially unveiled during a 60-minute Nintendo Direct earlier this month. Although pre-orders were initially scheduled to open in early April in the U.S., due to tariff-related uncertainties, Nintendo decided to delay the pre-order date to April 24. Amidst the delay, Nintendo announced that they would maintain the $449.99 price for the Switch 2 console and its games, but raised prices on most Switch 2 accessories, with the Switch 2 Pro Controller increasing from $80 to $85.
