While a Nintendo Switch port isn't entirely off the table, Palworld CEO Takuro Mizobe has voiced technical concerns regarding its feasibility. This isn't due to competition with Pokémon, but rather the game's demanding PC specifications.

Mizobe's comments, shared in a recent Game File interview, highlight the ongoing discussions regarding potential new platforms. However, Pocketpair currently has no concrete announcements. Despite the technical hurdles, Mizobe remains optimistic about expanding Palworld's reach. He previously acknowledged the significant difference in specifications between the PC and Switch versions.

Future platform releases remain unspecified, including PlayStation, other Nintendo consoles, and mobile devices. While Pocketpair is exploring these options, as confirmed by Mizobe in a Bloomberg interview, there are no current plans for a Microsoft acquisition.
Expanding Multiplayer and Gameplay Ambitions

Beyond platform considerations, Mizobe has expressed a desire to enhance Palworld's multiplayer aspects. The upcoming arena mode, described as an experiment, is a step toward a fully realized PvP mode, drawing inspiration from titles like Ark and Rust. Mizobe aims to incorporate the complex survival mechanics, resource management, and player interaction found in these popular games.

Since its release, Palworld has achieved significant success, selling 15 million copies on PC within its first month and attracting 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass. A major update, including the free Sakurajima update launching Thursday, will introduce a new island, the anticipated PvP arena, and more.
