Palworld Update 0.5.0 Adds Crossplay Across All Platforms, Blueprint Upgrading, Photo Mode and More

Palworld's latest update, version 0.5.0, introduces a host of exciting new features that are sure to enhance your gaming experience. One of the most significant additions is crossplay, now available across all platforms, allowing you to connect and play with friends regardless of the device they're using. This update also introduces the Global Palbox, where you can store your Pal data and effortlessly transfer your Pals between different worlds.

Another game-changer is the introduction of the Dimensional Pal Storage, which offers a staggering 10 times the capacity of the regular Palbox. This new system is not only accessible to guild members but can also be configured for personal use with private settings, giving you more control over your in-game resources.

For those who love to customize, the Cosmetic Armour System is a welcome addition. You can now change your character's appearance using the Antique Dresser without affecting your armor stats, thanks to the new transmog feature. Additionally, the new Photo Mode lets you capture stunning in-game moments by hiding the UI and freely moving the camera around.

The Drafting Table is another exciting feature that allows you to combine low-rarity blueprints to create higher-rarity ones, enhancing your crafting capabilities. And for Mac users, dedicated servers are now available, ensuring a smoother gaming experience.

Developer Pocketpair is also working on adding dedicated servers for the PlayStation 5 version, which will be released in the future. Since its early access launch in January 2024, Palworld has attracted an impressive 32 million players. The studio has laid out a comprehensive content roadmap for 2025, promising an "ending scenario" and more new content to keep the game fresh and exciting.

Palworld's launch on Steam for $30 and its simultaneous release on Game Pass for Xbox and PC have shattered sales and concurrent player number records. Pocketpair's CEO, Takuro Mizobe, mentioned that the game's success led to overwhelming profits, which the developer had to swiftly manage. In response to this success, Pocketpair has formed a new business venture with Sony called Palworld Entertainment, aimed at expanding the game's IP and bringing it to the PS5.

However, the game's success has not been without challenges. Palworld is currently facing a lawsuit from Nintendo and The Pokémon Company, who claim that the game has infringed on "multiple" patent rights. Pocketpair has addressed these allegations, adjusting how players summon Pals in the game and preparing to defend their position in court.
