Pokémon TCG Pocket Adds Trading Feature and New Expansion This Month

May 14,2025 Author: Ethan

If you've been eagerly awaiting the release of the upcoming trading feature for Pokémon TCG Pocket, your wait is almost over. The trading feature is set to launch on January 29th, and it will be accompanied by a brand-new expansion called Space-Time Smackdown, which will be released the very next day, January 30th!

Trading in Pokémon TCG Pocket allows you to exchange certain rarities of cards with friends, mirroring the experience of physical card trading. To facilitate these trades, you'll need to use trade hourglasses and trade tokens. This development is set to enhance the authenticity of the digital version of this iconic card collector.

The Space-Time Smackdown expansion is aptly named and will introduce some fan-favorite cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket. It will feature Pokémon from the Sinnoh region, including two new digital booster packs showcasing the legendary Pokémon Dialga and Palkia.

ytSmack in the faceIf legendaries aren't your focus, you'll be pleased to see the addition of other beloved Pokémon such as Lucario, along with the Sinnoh region's starter trio: Turtwig, Chimchar, and Piplup. These cards will be available through the Wonder Pick feature as well as traditional booster packs.

This update is poised to be a hit, largely due to the introduction of long-awaited Pokémon. However, there have been some concerns about the mechanics of the trading feature. Hopefully, the developers' promise of ongoing adjustments will ensure a smooth experience.
