Get ready for an exciting spring celebration in *Pokemon GO* with the Bug Out event, dedicated to all things bug-type. From March 26 at 10 AM to March 30 at 8 PM local time, you'll have five days to immerse yourself in the world of these fascinating creatures. It's the perfect time for Shiny hunters, as almost all featured Pokemon have a Shiny variant in the game.

Event Details

When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and wraps up on March 30 at 8 PM local time. This gives you a solid five-day window to catch all the bug-type Pokemon you can handle, making it a prime time for Shiny hunting as well.

According to the official page, you'll encounter these bug-type Pokemon more frequently in the wild during the event:

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Two new additions to *Pokemon GO* will make their debut during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and Centiskorch. Evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch with 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

Get ready for plenty of raid action during the Bug Out event. Here's what you can expect to see at raid gyms, with those marked with an asterisk available in Shiny form:

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Enjoy the following bonuses throughout the Bug Out event:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spin PokeStops during the event to receive event-themed Field Research tasks. Completing these tasks can reward you with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with some of the event's Pokemon. Additionally, Timed Research will offer rewards like a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon. For those willing to pay, the Paid Timed Research provides a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and more encounters with event Pokemon. Make sure to complete and claim all rewards before the event ends.

Pokemon GO Bug Avatar Items

Starting with the Bug Out event, new bug-type themed Avatar items will be available in the in-game shop, including:

  • Sizzlipede Boots
  • Scolipede Jacket

Pokemon GO Bug Out Collection Challenges

The Bug Out event also features Collection Challenges focused on event-themed Pokemon. Completing these challenges will reward you with Stardust, XP, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
