Trainer's Pokémon and Team Rocket Cards Teased for TCG
No Confirmed Official Date Yet
During the 2024 Pokémon World Championships, Pokémon unveiled plans to bring back "Trainer’s Pokémon" to the TCG. The announcement was accompanied by a thrilling teaser trailer featuring well-known trainers like Marnie, Lillie, and N, alongside hints of a Team Rocket resurgence.
Trainer’s Pokémon cards, a hallmark of the game's early days, represent Pokémon owned by specific trainers or characters. These cards are distinguished by their unique abilities and distinctive artwork. The showcased Trainer’s Pokémon cards include Lillie’s Clefairy ex, Marnie’s Grimmsnarl ex, N’s Zoroark ex, and N’s Reshiram.
The teaser also teased a Team Rocket revival, with Mewtwo appearing alongside the team's iconic symbol. This has sparked speculation about a potential Team Rocket-themed card set, possibly including the return of Dark Pokémon—known for their aggressive and edgy twists on classic Pokémon.
Rumors of Team Rocket cards have been circulating, fueled by a retailer listing in Japan and a trademark filing by The Pokémon Company for "The Glory of Team Rocket." While nothing has been officially confirmed, the anticipation for these additions to the TCG is palpable.
