While exploring the Ruins of Wyveria in *Monster Hunter Wilds*, you'll encounter the formidable Ebony Odogaron, a guardian known for its incredible speed, making it one of the fastest creatures in the game. Here's a comprehensive guide to help you tackle this challenging boss.
Ebony Odogaron's speed is its most daunting attribute, often leaving players scrambling to keep up. To counter this, consider stunning the monster. You can trigger a nearby Flashfly to momentarily immobilize it. Alternatively, craft Flash Pods to shoot at the monster, providing a window to attack or strategize.
Facing Ebony Odogaron solo can be overwhelming, with much of your time spent dodging. Bringing teammates can be a game-changer. Send out SOS signals to rally other players or rely on NPCs to serve as distractions. When the monster focuses on you, dodge until it shifts its attention elsewhere.
During the battle, you'll enter an area with Entangled Rocks overhead. Use your slinger to bring them down, stunning the boss for a few seconds. This tactic can only be used once per fight, but you can also deploy Pitfall and Shock Traps to immobilize the creature twice more.
In addition to physical attacks, Ebony Odogaron can inflict Dragonblight, which negates your ability to apply elemental or status effects. Counter this by using Nulberries or equipping decorations with Level 3 Dragon Resistance or Blight Resistance to mitigate its impact.
Paralysis is highly effective against Ebony Odogaron, immobilizing it for short periods. If you can knock it down over roots, it might get further entangled, giving you additional time to deal damage.
The head is Ebony Odogaron's weakest point, boasting a 3-star vulnerability. Attacking here maximizes your damage output, though it puts you at risk. If you prefer a safer approach, target its forelegs or tail, which may also allow you to break these parts.

Capturing Ebony Odogaron requires reducing its health to 20% or below before using a Pitfall or Shock Trap. Ensure the monster is sufficiently weakened; otherwise, the tranquilizer won't work, and it will soon break free, forcing you to continue the fight.
Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
