Inspired by the phenomenal success of the Super Mario Bros. and Sonic the Hedgehog films – a combined global box office gross exceeding $2 billion – the trailer showcases the potential of uniting these beloved franchises.

While a true collaboration between Nintendo and Sega remains unlikely given their history, the concept clearly resonates with audiences. In the meantime, fans can eagerly anticipate sequels: Super Mario Bros. at the Movies 2 (2026) and Sonic 4 at the Movies (2027).
