The SMSBUS electronic ticketing system

Enjoy cashless fare payment on Kazakhstan's public transport directly from your mobile phone balance. Make payments with no commission fees.

Passengers must present their electronic ticket on their phone for inspection to the driver or fare control personnel.

An electronic ticket is valid until you reach the final stop and can be found in the "Valid Tickets" section. Your trip history and previous e-tickets are available in the "Travel details" section.

By paying for public transport travel, the "SMSBUS" user agrees to the service's terms of use. The full rules are available on the website https://smsbus.kz

Potential reasons a payment from your phone balance might fail:

- The number is registered as a corporate line.

- An outstanding credit (trust payment) has not been settled.

- The balance has not been topped up since the number was purchased.

- The initial starting balance has not been used.

- The SIM card was replaced within the last 24 hours prior to payment.

Passengers can open a free virtual transport card in the app. Self-service registration is available for standard and school virtual cards. For other preferential virtual cards, please visit the company's office with the required supporting documents.

You can top up your virtual transport card using the card number directly within this mobile app or through other applications like Kaspi Bank, Halyk Bank (homebank), and others.

System permissions used by the app:

1) Camera - for scanning QR codes and to enable the QR scan button functionality.

2) Location - to display the correct city map, to automatically detect your bus for simple and convenient fare payment (by matching the GPS location of the passenger and the bus), and to build a route from your current location to your destination. You can enter destinations and departure points on the map or as text addresses. The route planning algorithm includes transfer information.
