Ubisoft Mainz has recently pulled back the curtain on more details about the eagerly awaited Anno 117: Pax Romana through an enticing new trailer. Initially announced with exploration centered around two regions, Lazio and Albion, the preview suggests that Lazio serves as a tranquil starting point, setting the stage for a dramatic shift to the main setting in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a peaceful haven, but an unexpected disaster forces players to venture into the unknown territories of Britain, known as Albion. This region presents a formidable challenge with its harsh climate, defiant local tribes, and its significant distance from Rome, all of which add complexity to the task of governance.
In the game, players step into the shoes of a governor, tasked with navigating these challenges without relying solely on force. A key strategy involves fostering peace by respecting and integrating local customs. A highlight of the game is the ability to customize ships, allowing players to tailor their vessels for strategic advantages—opting for speed with additional oarsmen or bolstering defense with archery turrets on board.
Anno 117: Pax Romana is set to launch in 2025, and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X, promising a rich and immersive experience for fans of the series.
