Square Enix has revealed plans to terminate Windows 10 support for Final Fantasy XIV this October.
The publisher confirmed ending technical support on October 14, 2025, aligning with Microsoft's scheduled discontinuation of security updates for Windows 10.
"Players may still operate FINAL FANTASY XIV on Windows® 10 after support ends," the company clarified. "However, we generally won't provide troubleshooting assistance for OS-related issues once support concludes."
The developer noted they might address some Windows 10 technical inquiries post-cutoff, but responses will be discretionary, situation-dependent, and not assured.
Simultaneously, Final Fantasy XIV's Windows specifications will upgrade on October 14. The OS requirement transitions from Windows 10 64-bit to Windows 11 64-bit, accompanied by elevated CPU demands.
Minimum specifications advance from Intel Core i7-7700 to Core i5-8400 processors, while recommended specs maintain the Intel Core i7-9700 standard.
The MMO currently prepares for its 7.3 update, The Promise of Tomorrow, launching early August. This post-Dawntrail expansion patch continues Solution Nine's mysterious developments through fresh Main Scenario Quests.
The update also debuts San d'Oria: The Second Walk, continuing the Final Fantasy XI crossover raid series Echoes of Vana'diel. Veterans of the classic MMO will discover nostalgic references throughout these new encounters.
For persistent Windows 10 users, migration appears unavoidable. With Microsoft's support expiration approaching, players should evaluate upgrade options for uninterrupted Final Fantasy XIV gameplay.
