Microsoft has announced that Rockstar Games' iconic title, Grand Theft Auto 5, will be making its way to Xbox Game Pass, with the enhanced version of GTA 5 set to join Game Pass for PC on April 15. This news, shared through an Xbox Wire post, marks a significant addition to the Wave 1 April 2025 lineup, bringing excitement to fans eagerly awaiting the return of this open-world masterpiece to the service.
The PC Game Pass version of GTA 5 will include the recently released Enhanced update, which Rockstar rolled out in early March. This update introduces a host of new features, including the Oscar Guzman Flies Again update, allowing players to engage in thrilling arms trafficking missions and pilot new aircraft from the McKenzie Field Hanger in Grapeseed. "No matter what version you’re playing, everyone will have access to this latest update where you can take to the skies," Xbox's official statement noted.
The reintroduction of GTA 5 to Game Pass comes after its previous removal, signifying a triumphant return for Rockstar's beloved game. However, the excitement is tempered for some fans due to ongoing issues. The GTA 5 Enhanced update, which became available on PC on March 4, brought with it new vehicles, performance upgrades in Hao’s Special Works, animal encounters, and visual enhancements. Despite these additions, the update led to GTA 5 being labeled as Rockstar’s worst-reviewed title on Steam, primarily because of account migration problems preventing players from transferring their GTA Online profiles to the new version.
For those new to the world of Los Santos, these issues are unlikely to pose a problem. However, returning players hoping to migrate their GTA Online accounts to the Enhanced version might find themselves facing continued challenges, as these issues remain unresolved.
