Exciting new images, details, and a construction start window of Fall 2025 have been revealed for the highly anticipated Lion King ride at Disneyland Paris. As reported by Disney Parks Blog, this will be the first-ever land and attraction dedicated to The Lion King, set to become a major highlight of the revamped Walt Disney Studios Park, soon to be renamed Disney Adventure World. Guests will embark on a thrilling water ride that recreates the iconic moments from the beloved 1994 film. The new land will also feature a towering 120-foot-high Pride Rock, along with a variety of dining options, shopping experiences, character meet-and-greets, and more.
Disney has unveiled a stunning concept image of the ride, showcasing Audio-Animatronics of young Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa enjoying a meal of grubs amidst a lush jungle backdrop. This scene is just one segment of the ride, which also includes an exhilarating 52-foot drop, surpassing Tiana's Bayou Adventure by two inches.
While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, the ride will debut following the grand opening of World of Frozen in 2026. This attraction is a key component of Disney Adventure World, which will expand the current park's footprint significantly.
In addition to World of Frozen and The Lion King ride, the park will feature the previously announced Raiponce Tangled Spin, with Mandy Moore reprising her role as Rapunzel. Another first-of-its-kind attraction inspired by the movie Up will also be included, offering a "spinning carousel" experience with panoramic views of the park's beautiful landscapes.
The World Premiere, set to open on May 15, 2025, will serve as the glamorous new entrance to Disney Adventure World, designed to emulate a Hollywood premiere. Adjacent to it, the World Premiere Plaza, inspired by Broadway and London's West End, will host theaters showcasing performances such as TOGETHER: A Pixar Musical Adventure, Mickey and the Magician, and Frozen: A Musical Invitation.
