Players accessing the game today will discover these tokens in their Gift section without accompanying explanation, though Creatures Inc. acknowledged fan feedback via social media. The trading feature recently faced scathing criticism, being labeled "exploitative" and "unreasonably restrictive" upon its long-awaited introduction.
Beyond the existing limitations on pack openings and Wonder Picks, the new trade system introduced additional barriers through these premium tokens. Players expressed frustration over the prohibitive cost - requiring the sacrifice of five collection cards just to trade one of equivalent rarity.
The development team anticipated negative feedback when previewing the system weeks prior, stating: "We acknowledge community concerns and welcome feedback once the feature goes live." This statement led many to expect more favorable conditions than those ultimately implemented.
Eight days post-launch, Creatures Inc. conceded certain restrictions "undermine casual trading enjoyment" while pledging to distribute trade items through future events. However, the recent Cresselia ex Drop Event failed to include any such rewards.
Community criticism centers on the perceived monetization strategy, with the trading system appearing designed to sustain revenue from a game that reportedly earned $200 million in its debut month. The exclusion of 2 Star+ rarity cards from trading further supports this interpretation, as it forces players to purchase randomized packs rather than trade for desired high-value cards.
Collectors highlight the exorbitant costs involved, with one player reportedly spending approximately $1,500 to complete just the initial card set before this month's third collection release.
