The Signal Redirector is a unique tool in *Atomfall*, and you won't stumble upon it in the usual ways. Unlike the Metal Detector, which you might find on a trader or a corpse, the Signal Redirector is tied to a specific location and character – Dr. Diane Garrow, a former B.A.R.D scientist.

Your journey begins with a lead from Wyndham Village pointing you towards Dr. Garrow's location. You'll need to embark on a rescue mission to save her from the depths of the Protocol prison camp in Skethermoor, which is no small feat. The camp is teeming with Protocol soldiers, making infiltration a daunting task. To ease your way in, consider meeting Captain Grant Sims in Wyndham Village. By assisting him with tasks like recovering stolen goods, you might gain some favor with Protocol, at least temporarily.

When you're ready, head to the Protocol prison camp situated on the southernmost border of Skethermoor. The entrance to the underground prison is at the end of the southern road, marked by a large green door.

Navigating the prison involves progressing through multiple levels, all while evading or confronting guards and robots. Remember, B.A.R.D robots can be disabled to harvest their **Atomic Batteries**, which are crucial for The Interchange. Continue your descent until you reach the bottom level, past the dig site area. Here, you'll find Dr. Garrow locked in a standalone cell in the main room. To free her, you'll need the Signal Redirector, which is conveniently located in the nearby Storage room on a shelf. Once you've secured it, you'll also earn the **‘Reverse the Polarity’ trophy/achievement**.

The Signal Redirector, crafted by Dr. Garrow, is essentially a hacking device that reroutes power within yellow junction boxes to different sources. This functionality is key to disabling security systems and unlocking storage rooms, among other uses.

Much like the Metal Detector, the Signal Redirector will alert you with an icon at the bottom of your screen when a hackable junction box is nearby. Follow the device's needle to locate the box, which will become highlighted as you approach. Use the 'Hack' button to reroute the power, and if needed, you can reverse the hack by interacting with the junction box again.
