The excitement surrounding *Silksong* has been building since its initial announcement in 2019. This new playable version promises to be a significant step up from the E3 2019 demo, which was more of a "proof of concept." Visitors to the ACMI exhibit will have the unique opportunity to experience *Silksong* firsthand, alongside exclusive custom builds and original design materials, concept art, and iconic objects from the game.

ACMI co-curators Bethan Johnson and Jini Maxwell expressed their enthusiasm about featuring *Silksong* at the exhibit, stating, "Since Hollow Knight: Silksong's initial announcement in 2019, it has been one of the most anticipated indie games on the planet – and we are thrilled to celebrate the design of this South Australian-made game as a centrepiece of Game Worlds in September."

With information on *Silksong* being scarce since its announcement, this exhibit at ACMI offers fans a much-needed update. The co-curators further explained that the exhibit will provide an in-depth look into the game's world, including the intricate animations of Hornet and the design behind the game's challenging boss fights. They said, "From the hundreds of sprites that animate Hornet’s different movements and attacks, to the logic behind the game’s most challenging boss fights – and of course, having the game playable in-gallery – our Silksong displays delve deeply into the details of the game's artistic direction and design."

While the ACMI event hints at a possible release window for *Silksong*, no concrete release date has been officially announced. However, *Silksong* did make a brief appearance during the Switch 2 Direct, confirming a release window of 2025. With the exhibit running until February 2026, fans are hopeful that *Silksong* might launch sometime within this period.

*Hollow Knight: Silksong* is slated for release on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. For the latest updates on *Silksong*, be sure to follow our coverage.
