A thrilling new Superman trailer has unveiled a wealth of fresh footage, offering fans a vivid glimpse into the DC Universe blockbuster set to release in July.
The trailer, presented below, depicts Superman clashing with multiple supervillains against a chilling backdrop of Lex Luthor’s menacing threats. Lex, brimming with intense hatred for Superman, vows to target his girlfriend, Lois Lane, and those closest to him. “Your schemes will fail, Luthor, no matter what you throw at me,” Superman retorts defiantly.
Fresh scenes show Superman rescuing civilians, battling the fire-breathing kaiju from earlier trailers, being rejuvenated by a solar burst, and engaging in a tense exchange with Nathan Fillion’s Guy Gardner / Green Lantern, who taunts, “Go ahead, Big Blue, make your move.” Surely, they’ll reconcile by the film’s end.
Additional footage highlights Krypto and Superman teaming up for a dynamic, video game-style finishing move against one of Lex Luthor’s henchmen, Metropolis dramatically splitting apart, and a peculiar moment where Superman, bound in some mysterious restraint, cradles what appears to be an alien infant. Later, Mister Terrific yells at a grounded Superman, urging him to “stop fooling around.” Superman, as always, has a sharp comeback.
The trailer culminates with Superman soaring through the sky, unleashing his laser vision to take down hordes of Luthor’s minions.

Earlier this month, the runtime for Superman was confirmed, alongside a statement from director and DCU overseer James Gunn refuting claims that Warner Bros. pressured him to shorten the film.
Superman, arriving in theaters on July 11, runs for 2 hours and 9 minutes, including credits and post-credits scenes, Gunn shared on Threads. For comparison, this is 15 minutes shorter than Henry Cavill’s 2013 film, Man of Steel.
Despite its concise runtime, the 2025 Superman film packs in a robust narrative. Fans have speculated how the movie will balance its extensive supporting cast. The story centers on Clark Kent / Superman, Lois Lane, and primary antagonist Lex Luthor, with a host of other superheroes and villains confirmed to appear.
