Tom Clancy's The Division 2 has now launched into its third season of year six, named "Burden of Truth." This season pulls agents deeper into the narrative, challenging them to track down Kelso in Washington, D.C. by deciphering her cryptic messages. As players pursue her, they'll unravel more about Lau's recruitment and the mysterious "Cassandra" mission, enriching the game's lore and engaging players with its storytelling.
A key highlight of this season is the introduction of the Rogue Momentum system, which revolutionizes combat by promoting aggressive tactics. Players can gain momentum by taking down enemies and fulfilling combat objectives. While regular kills provide a small increase, the system rewards players more significantly for critical hits, skillful combinations, multi-kills, and defeating elite enemies. As this momentum builds, players benefit from enhanced abilities, including faster movement, quicker reloads, higher damage output, and increased firing rates. When momentum reaches its zenith, the Overcharge feature activates, significantly reducing ability cooldowns, allowing for an intensified combat experience.
Alongside these dynamic combat changes, the season brings new weaponry and gear to the fray. Players with the Warlords of New York DLC and Year 1 Pass will enjoy an expanded inventory with 50 additional slots. New additions to the arsenal include the exotic SMG Oxpecker and the tactical Exodus gloves. The season also introduces two new brands, Refactor and Shiny Monkey, which offer fresh gear options. Moreover, named weapons such as the Rusty Classic RPK-74 and Goalie FAL come equipped with unique talents, providing players with the tools to fine-tune their builds. Available across all platforms, Ubisoft is keen to gather player feedback to enhance future updates and ensure the game continues to evolve in line with community expectations.
