The anticipation for Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 is palpable, and fans have been given a glimmer of hope from none other than Ned Luke, the voice actor behind Michael De Santa in GTA 5. Luke shared his insights and predictions about the upcoming game, emphasizing that GTA 6 will be a game-changer in the industry.
Rockstar Games To Do Something Unexpected For GTA 6
GTA 5 Actor Expects GTA 6 to Make $1.3 Billion On Its First Day

In a captivating interview with the YouTube channel Fall Damage, Ned Luke expressed his confidence that GTA 6 will rake in an astonishing $1.3 billion on its first day of release. Reflecting on the monumental success of GTA 5, which earned over $800 million in its initial 24 hours back in 2013, Luke believes that GTA 6 will surpass these figures by a significant margin.
"Be patient. It's going to be worth the wait," Luke assured fans, hinting at the incredible experience that awaits. "From what I've seen, it's going to be amazing." His confidence is backed by projections from DFC Intelligence, which anticipates GTA 6 to sell over 40 million copies and generate $3.2 billion in its first year, with $1 billion coming from pre-orders alone.
The Future Of GTA 5 Characters In GTA 6

Luke also shed light on the potential return of GTA 5 characters in the upcoming title. While his character, Michael, has been absent from GTA Online, the other protagonists, Trevor and Franklin, have made appearances. Luke hinted at the possibility of Michael featuring in a speculated final DLC for GTA Online or even making a comeback in GTA 6.
Steven Ogg, the actor behind Trevor, shared his vision for his character's role in GTA 6 during an interview with ScreenRant in January 2025. Ogg suggested a dramatic "passing the torch" moment where Trevor could meet his end early in the game.
"Maybe [Michael, Franklin, and Trevor will be] in GTA 6, like [its online mode]. Maybe. Maybe not," Luke mused, acknowledging Rockstar's penchant for secrecy. "You know Rockstar is not going to tell you anything. And if we say anything, you know they will not be very happy." Despite the enthusiasm from both actors, no official word has been given on the return of these beloved characters in GTA 6.
GTA 6 May Be At Its Testing Phase

Insights from former Rockstar Games Animator Mike York suggest that GTA 6 might currently be in its in-house testing phase. In a now-deleted interview with YouTuber Kiwi Talkz, as reported by GamesRadar, York highlighted the game's unique unpredictability, setting it apart from other open-world games.
"There are a lot of things that can happen that you don't really think about until some random kid in his basement tries it, you know? You really don't," York explained, emphasizing the game's potential for unexpected player interactions. He believes that while the game is likely playable, Rockstar is still fine-tuning it and adding final touches.
Rockstar Games unveiled the first trailer for GTA 6 in December 2023, but has remained tight-lipped about further details. Earlier reports from Take-Two Interactive’s 2024 Financial Report suggested a Fall 2025 release, yet no official release date has been confirmed.
