Explore the fascinating world of inZOI as the game director teases a Karma system and introduces ghost Zois, adding a thrilling paranormal twist to the gameplay. Dive into the details below to understand how this intriguing mechanic will work!
inZOI Director Teases a Karma System

On February 7, 2025, inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim took to Discord to reveal a Karma system that will transform deceased Zois into ghosts based on their Karma points.
Even with its focus on realism, inZOI is set to include a paranormal element through its Karma system and ghosts. Kim explained, "If a Zoi dies with enough karma points, they move on to the afterlife, but those who don’t make the cut have to remain as ghosts until they restore sufficient karma points." While the exact methods to restore these points remain undisclosed, this system promises a unique gameplay experience.

Kim emphasized the balance of this feature, stating, "We want to keep the playability of ghosts fairly limited so it doesn’t overshadow the main gameplay, but we also want to make sure the experience is engaging enough when it does happen." In the Early Access version, interactions with ghost Zois will be restricted to special conversations "at set times under certain conditions."
Looking ahead, Kim shared his vision for inZOI, saying, "While we’re committed to refining the realistic elements of inZOI first, I’d love to explore more fantasy-driven elements in the future. Occasionally stepping away from the game's native, ultra-realistic setting could add an extra layer of fun to our simulation of this vast and complex concept we call life!"
inZOI Karma Interaction Briefly Revealed

In August 2024, inZOI's publisher, Krafton Inc., collaborated with various content creators to showcase the game. Among them, MadMorph briefly teased inZOI’s Karma system in a sponsored video.
Around the fifteen-minute mark, MadMorph demonstrated Karma Interactions, a feature allowing Zois to perform actions that affect their Karma points. An example shown was a mischievous act where MadMorph's character secretly farted on another Zoi's face, eliciting a reaction. Other positive actions, such as "Throw Away Trash" or "Like a Friend’s post," were listed but not performed in the video.

Although the Early Access version of inZOI, set to launch on Steam on March 28, 2025, will primarily focus on gameplay "while the Zois are still alive," the Karma Interactions promise to have a significant impact in future updates. Fans eager to dive into this innovative game have just under six weeks to wait.
