Heroes of the Storm: Brawl Mode Returns!

Heroes of the Storm is bringing back its popular Heroes Brawl mode, rebranded as Brawl Mode. This exciting update, currently available on the Public Test Realm (PTR), introduces unique challenges on dozens of previously unavailable maps, marking the mode's return after a near five-year hiatus. Expect the official launch within the next month.

The original Heroes Brawl, initially launched as Arena Mode in 2016, offered weekly rotating gameplay variations. Inspired by Hearthstone's Tavern Brawls, it featured unique map layouts, altered objectives, and unusual rulesets. However, due to the rising popularity of single-lane maps and maintenance difficulties, it was discontinued in 2020, replaced by ARAM.

Brawl Mode's revival offers a bi-weekly rotation, updating on the 1st and 15th of each month. Players earn a special chest after completing three matches during each Brawl's active period. The exact reward structure (single reward per Brawl or weekly rewards) remains to be confirmed. With a vast library of past Brawls, players can anticipate many returning favorites, and potentially new additions in the future.

The PTR currently features the holiday-themed Snow Brawl. Given the PTR's three-week duration (as indicated in-game), the official Brawl Mode launch is likely slated for early February 2025. This coincides nicely with the 10th anniversary of Heroes of the Storm, making this a significant milestone for the game and its community. Many players see this as a positive sign, hoping it might signal a broader revival of the game itself.
