Palworld 的未来：Live Service 模式是最佳选择？
Pocketpair CEO 沟边拓郎在接受 ASCII Japan 采访时，讨论了 Palworld 的未来发展方向，特别是将其转变为持续运营的 live service 游戏的可能性以及玩家的期望。
有利可图，但挑战巨大
沟边拓郎表示，目前 Palworld 的未来发展方向尚未最终确定。开发团队 Pocketpair 计划更新游戏内容，例如添加新地图、更多伙伴和袭击 Boss 等，以保持游戏的新鲜感。但他同时也指出，Palworld 未来将面临两种选择：
沟边拓郎解释说，从商业角度来看，将 Palworld 转变为 live service 游戏将带来更多盈利机会，并延长游戏寿命。然而，Palworld 最初并非基于 live service 模式设计，因此如果采取这条道路，将会面临巨大挑战。
另一个需要仔细考虑的方面是 Palworld 作为 live service 游戏对玩家的吸引力。“最重要的是要确定玩家是否想要这样，” 他补充道，“通常情况下，一款游戏必须已经是免费游玩 (F2P) 游戏才能采用 live service 游戏模式，然后才能添加付费内容，例如皮肤和战斗通行证。但 Palworld 是一款一次性购买的游戏 (B2P)，因此很难将其转变为 live service 游戏。”
他进一步解释说：“有一些游戏成功地转向了 F2P 模式，” 例如 PUBG 和 Fall Guys，“但这两种游戏都花了数年时间才成功实现这一转变。虽然我理解 live service 模式对业务有利，但这并非易事。”
目前，Pocketpair 正在探索各种方法来吸引更多玩家，同时让现有玩家满意。沟边拓郎表示：“我们也建议实施广告货币化，但前提是广告货币化很难适应，除非是一款手机游戏。” 他补充说，他不记得有哪些 PC 游戏从广告货币化中受益。他还谈到了他对 PC 玩家行为的观察，说道：“即使它对 PC 游戏有效，在 Steam 上玩游戏的人也会讨厌广告。很多用户在插入广告时会生气。”
“因此，目前我们正在仔细权衡 Palworld 应该采取的方向，” 沟边拓郎总结道。目前，Palworld 仍处于抢先体验阶段，最近推出了最大的更新 Sakurajima，并推出了备受期待的 PvP 竞技场模式。
