Josef Fares Unveils Split Fiction Insights in Interview

Josef Fares, the head of Hazelight Studios, recently provided exciting updates on their upcoming game, Split Fiction, in an interview with MinnMax. Fares reaffirmed Hazelight's steadfast commitment to steering clear of live-service models and microtransactions, underscoring their dedication to crafting exceptional gaming experiences without additional monetization tactics. He was emphatic about the studio's direction, stating:

"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."

Fares shared that the core narrative of Split Fiction is expected to last around 12-14 hours, a duration similar to their previous hit, It Takes Two. For players looking to delve deeper, the inclusion of optional missions and additional content extends the total gameplay time to approximately 16-17 hours. This ensures a robust and engaging experience for everyone.

While Hazelight is renowned for its cooperative gameplay, Fares hinted at the studio's openness to exploring single-player titles in the future. He also revealed that the development budget for Split Fiction is twice that of It Takes Two. Despite this significant investment, Hazelight has chosen to forego post-launch DLC, opting instead to include all features available from the game's launch day.

Gamers worldwide can mark their calendars for March 6th, as Split Fiction will be released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. With Hazelight's proven track record and their commitment to delivering a complete gaming experience without additional costs, Split Fiction is poised to be another landmark title for the studio.
